"Commentary feels repetitive and one-sided"
I used to check Inside Higher Ed regularly for useful takes, but lately the analysis has felt a bit thin. A lot of the articles seem to circle around the same points without really getting into why the issue matters or offering much beyond the obvious.
The commentary also feels predictable, like I can guess the angle before I even finish the headline. I did try raising a complaint about it, but I had to chase them to get any kind of response, which made the whole thing more frustrating. It’s disappointing because I used to expect more balance and fresh insight from them.

"I really wanted to feel like I..."
I really wanted to feel like I was getting something useful out of this, but the price just feels way too high for what you actually get. I barely used enough features to justify keeping it, and every time the charge came through I just felt annoyed. It’s frustrating because I expected more value, but it didn’t feel worth paying for.
"Great spot for campus voices :)"
I’ve enjoyed checking out the community discussions here. It feels like there are a lot of genuine higher ed perspectives being shared, which is refreshing! Some threads do start to feel a little repetitive after a while, but overall it’s a good place to hear what people in the campus world are thinking

"Pages take forever to load"
I couldn’t even get through anything because the pages were loading so slowly. I kept waiting and waiting until I finally just gave up. How is this okay for a site people are supposed to actually read?

"Helpful info, but... not the easiest to use"
I found the career articles useful, honestly. They gave me a few good tips and helped me think through some options. But the job listings... yeah, they were kind of a pain to sort through. Not terrible, just not as smooth as I was hoping.

"Something felt off with the privacy settings"
I checked out insidehighered.com, and right away the cookie and privacy prompts just didn’t sit right with me. There were a lot of popups and settings, and I couldn’t really get a clear sense of what data they were collecting or what it was being used for. Maybe that’s just how a lot of news sites are now, but my gut reaction was that it felt a little uncomfortable. I ended up leaving quickly and probably won’t use the site much

"Helpful updates, just not always right away"
I do find the news updates useful, especially when I’m trying to keep up with what’s going on. Sometimes they come in a bit late though, so by the time I see them I’ve already heard about it somewhere else... Still, it’s decent overall.

"I’ve found some of the articles pretty..."
I’ve found some of the articles useful, especially when I’m just trying to get a quick understanding of a topic or make sense of something new. That said, a few of them feel a little light, like they introduce the idea but don’t really go far enough to help you connect the dots. Overall, it’s decent, just kind of hit or miss depending on what you’re reading.

"I check Inside Higher Ed every now and..."
I check Inside Higher Ed every now and then, and it’s useful for getting a quick sense of what’s going on. But a lot of the coverage feels a little thin... especially if you’re looking for more detail. The big policy stories usually get plenty of attention, while campus-level issues and smaller colleges seem to get passed over. It’s helpful sometimes, just not quite deep enough for what I usually need

"I check Inside Higher Ed every so often..."
I check Inside Higher Ed every so often when I want to see what’s going on in college news, and I’ll give them credit, they do pick up stories I don’t always see elsewhere. That said, the editorial side isn’t always not noticeable, and some articles feel more like someone’s campus take than straight reporting.
The sourcing can be a little vague sometimes, and a few headlines feel like they’re nudging you in a certain direction. It’s not like the site isn’t useful, but I wouldn’t use it as my only source if I really wanted the full picture.
"I’ve used Inside Higher Ed while looking..."
I’ve used Inside Higher Ed while looking for academic jobs, and it does have a solid number of listings that seem to get updated regularly. That said, the search tools could definitely be better. The filters feel a little clunky, and I still ended up seeing jobs that didn’t really match what I was looking for. It’s a useful site overall, but if you’re going to have job search filters, it just makes sense that they should narrow things down more accurately.

"Search is honestly useless"
I tried using the search on Inside Higher Ed, it was frustrating. I typed in some specific terms, but the results still felt random and didn’t really match what I was looking for.
The filters weren’t much help either, and older articles kept showing up ahead of newer ones. It pretty much feels like you have to already know the exact headline if you want to find anything.
For a site with that many articles, the search really should work better. I ended up giving up and just using Google instead.

"Good updates, but a little email-heavy"
The updates are helpful and I do like staying in the loop, but the emails come often. There’s something about it that just starts to feel like a bit much after a while.

"The newsletter didn’t stay useful for me"
I signed up hoping the emails would give me helpful updates I could actually use, but after a while they started to feel repetitive. Maybe it’s better for someone who’s brand new to the topic, but for me, most of the content just didn’t add much.

"Too many ads everywhere"
I was just trying to read an article, but ads kept popping up all over the page. It got annoying fast, especially when they cover the content and you have to keep closing them. I get that sites need ads, but when it’s every few seconds it just makes me want to leave before I can even...

"Great for finding higher ed jobs!!"
I usually check Inside Higher Ed when I’m looking for university job openings, and the matches are solid!! I don’t have to sift through a bunch of random listings like on some other sites. It’s easy to browse, and I’ve already found a few roles that were actually worth applying to.

"Support helped, but it wasn’t super fast"
They did get my issue fixed in the end, so I can’t really complain too much. The replies just took a couple days each time and felt a bit short, not sure how to explain it, like they were helpful but not very warm.

"Why is the mobile site so frustrating??"
I tried reading Inside Higher Ed on my phone it was kind of a hassle. The pages loaded slowly, ads kept shifting things around, and I kept losing my place while scrolling. The menu was also awkward to use, like why are the taps so finicky?? Maybe it’s fine on desktop, but on mobile I ended up giving up after a few articles.
"Frustrating to read on mobile"
I tried using insidehighered.com on my phone and got annoyed quickly. The pages felt slow to load, and every time I just wanted to read an article, ads or popups seemed to get in the way. The layout also felt cluttered, so I kept losing my place or getting bumped around the page. The information might be useful, but the actual experience was frustrating enough that I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to use the site again.

"Wish I hadn’t bothered commenting"
I tried leaving a totally normal comment, and it just never showed up. No email, no explanation, nothing, it was just gone. i kind of regret taking the time to write it because it felt like it disappeared for no reason. Frustrating...
